CONNECT Greater Bendigo is officially handed over to the community.

City of Greater Bendigo mayor Cr Jennifer Alden launched the online community directory at a gathering at the Capital Theatre.

Community groups, sporting clubs, education and health services can now upload their contact details and messages promoting what they are about and upcoming events.

All of us can scroll through and find where we can connect.

Cr Alden said it’s the perfect site for people who are looking for local events to attend or who want to join a local club or group. 

“The new Connect Greater Bendigo website is a first for Greater Bendigo and although it has been developed by the City, it is very much a community website,” she said.

“In the past there wasn’t one single community directory that consolidated information about community groups, organisations, events and activities in Greater Bendigo to help people Find-Join-Connect!

“Instead, people had to search the internet, social media, or go direct to local websites to find the information they wanted.  This was not only time-consuming and frustrating but also challenging for those new to the region.

“Because it’s so easy to browse and search and features simple and clear information Connect Greater Bendigo will make finding a local sport and recreation club, community group, health care service or education provider and more a breeze.”
