The Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung Peoples are the Traditional Owners of the land on which the City of Greater Bendigo is situated. The Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation and the Taungurung Land and Waters Council are the Registered Aboriginal Parties (RAP) for Central Victoria and they represent the Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung Peoples. Greater Bendigo is also home to a strong and vibrant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community with many members having links to different Country right across Australia. There are a range of Aboriginal organisations, committees, and networks that provide services and support for Aboriginal residents.
