“Bonegilla-The migrant's journey" the award winning multi media show with first hand interviews of post war migrant's and a live music soundtrack
“Bonegilla-The migrant's journey", is a multi award winning documentary that uses interviews with post-war migrants that passed through the Bonegilla migrant camp. Featuring firsthand interviews with people from various European countries and their original photos and home movies, this film is selling out theatres all around Australia. The touching stories are further enhanced by a violin and piano soundtrack played live in the venue for the duration of the performance.
This documentary is nothing like a dry and dusty history lesson. The migrants tell of their war experiences, why they wanted to travel to the other side of the world and how they fared in their newly adopted country. At times it’s tragic, disheartening and racist, but ultimately, it’s a feel-good story of gutsy and inspirational people who created the backbone of Australian society.
You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. But most of all you’ll be truly inspired by these gutsy pioneers to a country they knew nothing about.
The exceptional audio / video facilities at the Bendigo Baptist Church in Junortoun, make it the first choice for a show like this.
