About Event

TALKING OUT OF TURN

A One-Day Stand-up Comedy Class (Microphones optional!)

Neurodiverse. LGBTQIA+. Brilliant. Burnt out. Done shrinking, masking and toning it down?

This is your room.

Talking Out of Turn is comedy for people like us. We misread cues, notice too much, too late or all at once and still name what’s going on.

We read the room correctly. The room is unreliable.

We drop things, forget why we stood up, trip over nothing and form deep attachments to unnecessary detail.

Stand-up doesn’t reward conformity. It rewards noticing.

When something makes no sense, most people think, “Maybe it’s me.” We say, “No. Statistically, it’s you.”

We call out the thing you pretend isn’t there. We’re not disruptive. We’re immune to pretending.

Comedy happens where the script falls apart. That’s where we live. No apology. No permission. No fear of provoking. That’s not a flaw. It’s material.

It’s our mother tongue — the one we were told to stop speaking.

Normality isn’t the standard.
It’s the majority.
Comedy is the correction.
