We are looking for all voice types but especially tenors and basses.
Find Your Voice: Bendigo Chorale Invites All Singers to Free Wednesday Open Nights
Bendigo Chorale is opening its doors to music lovers across Central Victoria, inviting aspiring and experienced choristers to join their weekly rehearsals. Rehearsals take place every Wednesday night from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Bendigo Uniting Church Hall on Forest Street, Bendigo.
The community choir is welcoming all voice types—Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass—with a special, urgent call out for male voices to strengthen the Tenor and Bass sections. While the ability to read music is a great advantage for tackling the classical repertoire, prospective members do not need to face high-pressure auditions. Instead, they are encouraged to simply come along to a regular rehearsal to try out the choir in a relaxed, friendly environment.
New members joining now will have the exciting opportunity to prepare for two major musical milestones. The choir is currently building its ensemble for the upcoming 2026 Christmas concert, as well as laying the groundwork for an incredibly special and exciting 70th anniversary concert program in 2027.
Under the expert musical direction of Elena Vashavskaya, Bendigo Chorale brings timeless classical masterpieces to life, offering local singers the chance to develop their vocal skills, experience the power of harmony, and connect with a passionate community of musicians.
Singing in a choir is a powerful way to lift your spirits, challenge your mind, and build lasting friendships. We are a welcoming group, and we want to make it as easy as possible for people to experience the joy of choral singing. Whether you sang in a school choir years ago or currently sing in the shower, we invite you to come along this Wednesday, sit in on a session, and see if we are the right fit for you. Singers interested in joining can simply turn up on any Wednesday night. No prior booking is required.
