Marist Academy is designed to get kids (and adults!) playing music and having fun! No instrument? No worries! We provide them :)

About Us

We are a fun, music program, designed to get kids (and kids at heart!) reading and playing music!

The group rehearses weekly as a "band", and students are taught the basics of playing an instrument, reading music, music theory and how to play in a group environment. The Academy is made up of students of all ages, from Primary School children through to adults.

Playing music is a great way to make new friends, while having lots of fun! :)

We offer a range of instruments including:

  • Cornet
  • Tenor Horn
  • Baritone Horn
  • Euphonium
  • Trombone
  • Tuba
  • Percussion

All materials - including instrument hire! - are provided, with just a small fee each term to cover tuition. It is ideal for anyone wanting an accessible avenue to learn music, or for those that learnt years ago and would like to get back into music.

Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings, and we run two groups:

  • Youth Group (Kids 8-18): 5-5:45pm
  • Adult Group (Ages 16+): 6-6:45pm

We aim to perform in public at least once each school term, with our major performance at the Marist Brass Carols concert in December.

We are always welcoming of new students!
