About Event

The Bendigo Repair Cafe (BRC) provides the core program from which the broader Shed project has grown. It was established in 2017 and has expanded from being a monthly repair service to a two-day-a-week operation.

Repair Cafés are free meeting places and they’re all about repairing things (together). You’ll find tools and materials to help you make any repairs you need. On clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, appliances, toys, et cetera. You’ll also find expert volunteers, with repair skills in all kinds of fields.

Visitors bring their broken items from home. Together with the specialists they start making their repairs in the Repair Café. It’s an ongoing learning process. If you have nothing to repair, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job.

While you're there, why not check out The Remakery? It is our recently launched upcycled and handmade boutique, stocking all manner of sustainably made goodies!

You can also browse The Useful Bin, which is a treasure trove full of household, commercial and industrial waste that has been recycled for creative reuse – art and craft materials, haberdashery, fabric, stationery, jars, boxes, newspaper…there are loads of resources for DIY projects…and more.

All items have been collected through donations from local individuals and businesses - we have set up a space to enable the community to access them..

As with most of what we do at the Shed it is free to use but we appreciate and rely on donations to help us keep the service going
