About Event

The Central Victorian Indigenous Film Festival is back in 2024 to celebrate National Reconciliation Week. Experience a range of films, videos, activities and discussions in local venues and online. This year’s festival showcases an exciting range of First Nations films, documentaries and videos starring and telling stories about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People from Central Victoria and across Australia.

Join us for a second screening during this year's CVIFF of The Earth Above: A Deep Time View of Australia’s Epic History at the Bendigo Planetarium.

Enjoy Bendigo's first showings of the The Earth Above: A Deep Time View of Australia’s Epic History. This film explores Australia’s past 140,000 years, incorporating traditional and scientific knowledge to tell Australia’s epic story. Viewers are transported to four significant and sacred locations where histories are told by First Nations custodians. The Earth Above is a feature-length full-dome planetarium show from the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage (CABAH) produced by the Deakin MotionLab in collaboration with First Nations communities and UOW Science Space.
