Girls’ Brigade is a relationship building, achievement-based program which has been developed especially for girls.

About Us

At the core of our program are two of our desires for girls: Friendships & Faith.
Friends are critical to enjoying life. Often it is a friend who brings a girl to Girls’ Brigade and friendships are one of the main reasons girls stay. We aim for every to have at least one good friend in Girls’ Brigade.
Our Christian values and teaching are by far the number one reason why parents send their daughters to Girls’ Brigade. We aim for all girls to develop in their faith journey through their time in Girls’ Brigade, regardless of the length of time they are with us.
Our program material covers four themes: Self, Life, Community & Purpose
Our themes help us ensure girls participate in a varied program that sees them develop in all aspects of their life:
SELF - Understanding who they are & developing resilience.Exploring belonging, fellowship & connection.
LIFE - Developing skills for life, & a sense of responsibility. Developing Godly character.
COMMUNITY - Learning how to be part of a community & relate to others. Developing a heart for God’s people and the world.
PURPOSE - Exploring talents, gifts and finding their passion. Learning ways to draw close to God.
Activities include (but are not limited to):
- singing,
- cooking,
- craft,
- games (indoor and outdoor),
- camps, (camp Feb 19-21 2021)
- Bible studies, and so much more.

For the older girls, GB is a safe environment where girls learn the relevance of a living faith, how to apply Biblical truths to their everyday lives and are accepted and valued for who they are.  Girls are encouraged to develop and use their God given gifts and to participate in service to their church and local community. The older girls may also undertake the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Pioneer Pin, Queen’s Award and leadership and life skills training courses.
Girls’ Brigade meets Monday evenings at the Bendigo Baptist Church, 757 McIvor Road Junortoun, and ALL girls are welcome, whether they go to a church or not.
