The Bendigo Queer Film Festival provides a high quality film and arts event for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTQ) people

About Us

The Bendigo Queer Film Festival (BQFF) was founded in 2004 by Chris Walters in collaboration with the Melbourne Queer Film Festival (MQFF), and is the longest running regional queer film festival in Australia.

BQFF attracts people from all over Victoria and interstate. We are proud to be one of the few regional centres Australia wide, which hosts its own queer film festival. The festival shows feature films, drama, comedy and documentaries, hosts an international short film competition and discussions about queer film, TV and digital formats.

BQFF provides cultural and artistic opportunities to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTI) people living in Central Victoria. BQFF is recognised as a significant event by the LGBTI community and by the City of Greater Bendigo.
