TIMES:  Riders are to be saddled at 9.30 ready for gear check.  Marks will be lost if not ready by 9am.

Lunch is usually approx 12.00 to 1.00pm and the rallies usually finish approx 3pm.

GEAR CHECK:  Riders must report to a gear check before being able to ride at the rallies.  Gear will be checked for safety and that it complies with pony club standards.

CLUB UNIFORM:

  • Jodhpurs – oatmeal, banana or fawn colour.
  • White shirt
  • Royal blue tie.
  • Approved helmet.  (If unsure see D.C.)

Uniform is to be worn at rallies.  In summer a blue polo shirt may be worn.  Badges are available from the D.C. or treasurer.

PARENTS ASSISTANCE AT RALLIES:  Parents are asked to assist at rallies by helping in the canteen, cleaning up,  helping instructors by picking up rails, moving equipment packing up etc.  Remember many hands make light work.  The club also holds working bees where it is hoped to have many helping hands.

LUNCHES:  We usually have lunch between 12.00 and 1.00.  Our canteen has a variety of hot and cold food drinks etc.  We like to make it a social event and finish off with news and announcements.  Make sure you pick up your newsletter and deal with any announcements that need action.

RALLY ATTENDANCE:  If a member is unmounted they must report to the D.C. so that they may be allocated a job for the day.  Unmounted riders must wear uniform.  Members must remain in their groups unless told otherwise by the D.C.

HORSES THAT KICK Horses that have a tendency to kick must wear a red ribbon in its tail so others can be aware of it and not go too close.

COMPETITIONS.  Pony club has many competitions from time to time.  Riders must be graded on the horse they wish to compete on and have at least 2 rallies on the horse.  Riders must also have attended 50% of the rallies in the last 12 months to qualify.  The D.C. is responsible for grading riders and horses so queries should be directed to the D.C.  Entries to Pony club events requiring the signature of the D.C. must go through the D.C.

PONY CLUB ATTENDANCE CARDS:  Financial members of Pony club are issued with an attendance card with your personal details on it.  These cards are to be returned at the start of each rally so they can be filled in.  Riders needing their cards are to collect them at the end of the rally.  These cards will need to be presented if you are entered in a competition so it is your responsibility to make sure that they are up to date.

MEDICAL ARMBANDS:  Pony Club members must wear medical armbands at all pony club events.  These armbands give valuable information relating to the member in case of an accident.  Armbands are available from the club or saddle shops.
