AMCF celebrates diversity and harmony uniting 40+ Victorian African communities, drawing over 50,000 people to share music, food, fashion and culture.
African Music and Cultural Festival (AMCF) is a well‑established, not‑for‑profit cultural organisation now in its 13th year, with a strong track record of delivering large‑scale, high‑quality, community‑focused cultural festivals across Victoria. In November 2024, we delivered the 12th African Music and Cultural Festival at Federation Square, attracting 52,155 attendees. The event was attended by the Premier of Victoria, Hon. Jacinta Allan MP, the Leader of the Opposition, and a wide range of government, business and community leaders.
The Bendigo African Festival is a regional extension of the African Music and Cultural Festival (AMCF), Victoria’s premier African cultural celebration, now entering its 13th year. AMCF attracts more than 50,000 attendees annually at Federation Square and showcases over 40 African communities through music, dance, food, fashion, health and wellbeing initiatives, sport, arts, and cultural engagement.
The Bendigo African Festival aims to bring these same outcomes to regional Victoria by promoting:
• Multicultural inclusion and social cohesion
• Community health and wellbeing
• Youth engagement and participation
• Cultural celebration and community connection
• Regional economic and tourism activation
